ASUS: Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Update In Progress

(GSM Insider) - Although Android 4.2 already released for a month now, you hardly can see the update for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean rolls out to devices yet. The Android 4.1 still not popular at all. However, things slightly different at Asus as the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean already in progress.


According to source from Holland, Asus stated that the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for Asus Transformer Tablet already in progress. At the moment, no details yet on the when the update will release, but should be in near future.

There are some Transformer tablets are yet to receive Android 4.1 update. Asus might just update those devices directly to Android 4.2. So the arrival of Android 4.2 might be earlier than expected.

CONFIRMED: No Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Update For Nexus S and Motorola Xoom

(GSM Insider) - The released of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update is not a good news for all Nexus users. It might be a good news for users of Nexus 4 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. But this is not a good news for Nexus S users.


The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is certainly not coming to the Samsung Nexus S and the Motorola Xoom tablet. Bad news bad news after all.

"There is no support for 4.2 on Nexus S and Xoom. Those devices should continue using 4.1.2. I can’t comment about the future of Nexus S and Xoom, sorry.” - Google's engineer Jean-Baptiste Queru

This is a bad news for those who hope to get the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to the Samsung Nexus S and Motorola Xoom. 

The Samsung Nexus S is the second Nexus smartphone from Google. As things stand now, the Samsung Nexus S and Motorola Xoom will continue using Android 4.1.2.

Tutorial: Manually Download And Install Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Update Into Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250

(GSM Insider) - As today, Google releases Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to its Nexus series device. One of the surprise device to get the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250. It is the GSM version of Samsung Galaxy Nexus.


First of all, you must be a Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250 user. But this manual update might not suitable for those who are not professionals. Please dont do this if you never do any root or flash custom ROMs in your whole life. Because a step wrong might bring your device to "dead". It is not worth to try it. 

If you are someone have experience, you are welcomed to go ahead with the update. Someone in the XDA forum posted on the possible steps to manually install the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update to your third generation Nexus smartphone

If you are not rush for the update, you can wait for the OTA update directly arrive at your device. Just you need to be a little more patient.

LG Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus Getting Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OTA Update

(GSM Insider) - Seems like not only the Nexus 10 and LG Nexus 4 users getting the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Samsung Galaxy Nexus users are getting the Jelly Bean update as well.


Its amazing how fast Google rolling out the update to its Nexus smartphones. Not long ago when the Nexus 7 unveiled, Samsung Galaxy Nexus received the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Today, when the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean releases to LG Nexus 4 and Nexus 10, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250 getting the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as well. Really a good news for Samsung Galaxy Nexus users. No doubt about it.

The screenshot clearly showed the Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250 with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on board. This is just the GSM global version Galaxy Nexus. Other variants for Sprint and Verizon need to wait little bit longer.

The LG Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 tablet getting the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update as well. The update include the features of lock screen widgets and multi-user support. The multi-user support available at Android tablets only. 

It is confirmed that the LG Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 getting the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean preloaded. So no update required. Getting the Android 4.2 from day one. Good job Google!

HTC Confirmed No Jelly Bean Update For Devices With 512MB RAM or Less

(GSM Insider) - If you are HTC user, you might interested to know when your device will receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Seems like now HTC already got the answer for you regarding the Jelly Bean update.


In the latest "Updates on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and Frequently Asked Questions" that appeared at HTC, it did state out the requirements for a HTC device to receive Jelly Bean update.

HTC stated that at the moment, HTC One X and HTC One S along with other devices that launched in 2012 are its priority to work on the Jelly Bean. Devices in 2011 will come after this.

HTC did not give any timeline when the Jelly Bean update will full released to the users as it needs to make sure the Jelly Bean update perfect for the device before release.

Here's the interesting part - "In general, devices with 512MB RAM or less will not be upgraded to Android 4.1. At present, these devices include the HTC One V and the HTC Desire C.

So now you roughly can know which device will not getting the Jelly Bean update. However, HTC reaffirmed that there will updates for the devices even without the Jelly Bean update.

Motorola Droid Razr M Getting Jelly Bean Update After Two Months On Sales

(GSM Insider) - Today, Motorola confirmed that the Jelly Bean update of Motorola Droid Razr M will release to soak testers and then will release to users.

It is rather surprise that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update arrives to fast. It is just two months after the Motorola Droid Razr M on sales and shipped. This is definitely a relief for those Motorola Droid Razr M owners as you dont need for a long time.

Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

(GSM Insider) - Samsung Galaxy 10.1 is the tablet that featured the S Pen. It is the second device from the Samsung Galaxy Note line after the first Galaxy Note. Finally, the large size Galaxy Note getting the Jelly Bean update.


According to some German users, they stated that their Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 received OTA update. The OTA update is about 300MB large. After installed this update, it will able to bring the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with the features like project butter and Google Now.

LG Optimus Big Receives Android 4.0 ICS Update

(GSM Insider) - Well. LG is releasing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its LG Optimus Big LG LU6800 in Korea. You are just get lucky as other devices like LG Optimus 2X has yet to receive the update.


Surprisingly, LG Optimus Big found in the list of LG Korea website that available for Android 4.0 ICS update. Oppo Mobile Officially Releases Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Update For Oppo Finder

(GSM Insider) - The wait is over! Oppo Finder is getting the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. Earlier last month, leaked image showed that Oppo Finder ran on Jelly Bean. Finally the update is official.

Panasonic Releases Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update For ELUGA via Google Play

Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE Starts Receiving Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

(GSM Insider) - With the introduction of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, it is the time for older version Android 4.1 to getting popular. There are limited devices that on the Android 4.2 yet. So, it is the time for Samsung to roll out the Android 4.1 update for its Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE.

According to Samsung Korea, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is now officially rolls out to Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE. The update can be done via Kies Air or manual update directly from device. The Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE SHV-E210S is the one in the South Korea that receiving the Jelly Bean. There are no news yet whether the global version Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE I9305 is receiving the Jelly Bean.

HTC One X Gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update Today, Coming Soon On One S

(GSM Insider) - Finally the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is coming to HTC One X smartphone. It is confirms by the news from HTC as the update begins to roll out on today, 26 October, 2012.


The update allows HTC One X to on the same par with HTC One X+ and HTC One S SE. The added features are included Jelly Bean and HTC Sense 4+. 

According to HTC, the Jelly Bean update for HTC One X indeed starts today. But there are no news yet on the HTC One S. At the moment, HTC exec only hints at the Jelly Bean "Coming Soon".

Sony Confirms 4.1 Jelly Bean Update Heading Xperia T, TX, V, S, P, J, Acro S, ion And Go

(GSM Insider) - Finally, Sony announced its plan on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. There are good news and there bad news as well. Good news is those 2012 smartphone will receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean while those 2011 and before will not receive the update.

There’ve been a fair few questions here on the blog, our support forum and our social media channels, regarding upgrade plans for Android 4.1 (also known as Jelly Bean). Today we are happy to give you a bit of an update. :-)

Our latest models, Xperia T and Xperia TX are shipping across global markets as you read this post, and Xperia V is on the way shortly – these smartphones will begin to receive the upgrade to Jelly Bean from mid-Q1 2013.

Next up, we can confirm the global versions of Xperia S, Xperia acro S, Xperia ion, Xperia P, Xperia go and Xperia J will be upgraded to Android 4.1* – we will be back with detailed timings for these in due course.

We were glad to provide the Android 4.0.4 upgrade for our 2011 Xperia portfolio across most markets and the majority of models but, after thorough evaluation, we have concluded they will not be upgraded beyond Ice Cream Sandwich.

Beyond Ice Cream Sandwich we would not able to guarantee owners of these smartphones the user experience you expect and we demand. We will however, continue to support all these products with firmware maintenance releases.

As usual, the only official software update news will be found regularly here on the blog and we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have news to share.

Verizon Officially Rolls Out 4.0 ICS Update For Motorola Droid Bionic

(GSM Insider) - Good news! Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update is coming to your Motorola Droid Bionic device. Perhaps this is not the latest Android version, but the update is always better than the current version in your device. isn't it?


Today is the day when Verizon Wireless will release the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the Motorola Droid Bionic.

Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, operating system will begin being pushed to customers in phases starting Oct. 19 for DROID BIONIC by Motorola devices.

Ice Cream Sandwich includes upgraded functionality and new features, enhancing the usability of the DROID BIONIC. Direct Access Lock takes users to the camera, text messages, keypad or unlock screen, providing direct access to the user’s most accessed functions. The Enhanced Notifications Window features a new swipe to dismiss functionality. Additionally, creating folders is easy by dropping one app on top of another.

Samsung Confirms Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update Coming To US Galaxy S III Variatns "In Coming Months"

(GSM Insider) - Finally, the news had confirms by Samsung as the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is coming soon to the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the United States. There are different variants of Samsung Galaxy S3 as all are expect to receive the Jelly Bean update in coming months.


According to market watch, Samsung confirms that 4.1 Jelly Bean update coming to its Galaxy S3 in the USA. There are five different variants of Samsung Galaxy S3 in the United States - AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and U.S Cellular

LG Confirms 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For Optimus G, Optimus LTE 2, Optimus VU and VU II

(GSM Insider) - LG Mobile officially announces the upcoming schedule for the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update on its devices. Four devices mentioned by LG Mobile are the LG Optimus G, LG Optimus LTE 2, LG Optimus VU and LG Optimus VU 2. 


LG Optimus G will be the earliest to receive to 4.1 Jelly Bean update. All LG Optimus G set to receive 4.1 Jelly Bean update by December 2012. After that, LG Optimus LTE 2 set to receive Jelly Bean update. The last two to receive update is the two phablets - LG Optimus VU and LG Optimus VU 2. The update expects to arrive at the Q1 of 2013. It is weird that LG left out LG Optimus 4X HD on their Jelly Bean update list. We cannot understand why LG decided to leave out the quad-core LG Optimus 4X HD. 

If you are LG Optimus 4X HD users, dont worry. At least LG does not ruled out on your device yet. Perhaps everything still on the preparing stage. We will update you once available.
