HTC Confirmed No Jelly Bean Update For Devices With 512MB RAM or Less

(GSM Insider) - If you are HTC user, you might interested to know when your device will receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Seems like now HTC already got the answer for you regarding the Jelly Bean update.


In the latest "Updates on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and Frequently Asked Questions" that appeared at HTC, it did state out the requirements for a HTC device to receive Jelly Bean update.

HTC stated that at the moment, HTC One X and HTC One S along with other devices that launched in 2012 are its priority to work on the Jelly Bean. Devices in 2011 will come after this.

HTC did not give any timeline when the Jelly Bean update will full released to the users as it needs to make sure the Jelly Bean update perfect for the device before release.

Here's the interesting part - "In general, devices with 512MB RAM or less will not be upgraded to Android 4.1. At present, these devices include the HTC One V and the HTC Desire C.

So now you roughly can know which device will not getting the Jelly Bean update. However, HTC reaffirmed that there will updates for the devices even without the Jelly Bean update.
