(GSM Insider) - T-Mobile USA Not Releasing Windows Phone 7.8 Update For Its Nokia Lumia 710.

When the Microsoft announced the Windows Phone 8, it also announced that all the devices running on Windows Phone 7 will not get the Windows Phone 8 update.

In order to compensate those Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 7.5 users, Microsoft decided to roll out the Windows Phone 7.8 as a compensation. Windows Phone 7.8 will only share about 80% of the features of Windows Phone 8. For example, the Windows Phone 7.8 also has the LiveTiles customization features.

Earlier today, T-Mobile USA dropped a huge bomb by confirming that the Nokia Lumia 710 will not get the Windows 7.8 update.

At this time, the Nokia Lumia 710 will not receive the software update. T-Mobile is committed to enhancing customers’ experience with our devices, including providing upgrades to the latest operating systems, and T-Mobile aims to deliver software upgrades when it will provide a better experience for our customers. We’ll share additional information on upgrades for the Nokia Lumia 710 when they are available. - T-Mobile USA. 

Since T-Mobile USA stated that "at this time" the device will not get the update, but who knows about the future. Perhaps the update still in works and not ready for release. It powered by 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It features 16GB of ROM and supports microSD expansion up to 64GB. Nokia Lumia 822 supports 4G LTE network of Verizon.

Another device is Nokia Lumia 810 (images above) for T-Mobile that makes appearance at CES 2013. This Nokia Lumia 810 is different from the Nokia Lumia 822 as it does not have 4G LTE connectivity. This Windows Phone 8 device has 4.3-inch display with 800 x 480 resolution. It powered by 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It features 16GB of ROM and supports microSD expansion up to 64GB.

The alphabet "L" could simply means LTE.

Tutorial: How To Activate Or Enable 4G LTE Connectivity On Your LG Nexus 4

(GSM Insider) - Seems like someone successfully activated the 4G LTE connectivity in the LG Nexus 4. Supposely LG Nexus 4 is not compatible for LTE networks even with LTE chips inside. But things might change soon after some Android developers successfully enabled the 4G LTE in it. 

Some LG Nexus 4 users successfully enabled LTE. The main point is the LG Nexus 4 is in Canada. So there are some requirements for your LG Nexus 4 works on 4G LTE. The LG Nexus 4 only supports a specific 4G LTE band only. It is the "Band 4" or known as the AWS. The Spectrum of AWS is 1710 - 1755 MHz band for uplink and 2110 to 2155 MHz band for download. So there only a few carriers that using this "Band 4" (AWS) spectrum: 

- AT&T (USA and some markets)
- T-Mobile (USA, but no LTE)
- Bell Canada
- Rogers Canada
- Telus Canada

So LG Nexus 4 working on the 4G LTE of these networks. There are no news on other networks yet. The T-Mobile 4G LTE network is yet to deploy but coming soon in 2013. 

Instructions

1. Open the dialer.
2. Type *#*#4636#*#* to enter the Testing menu
3. In the Testing Menu, change the radio mode from GSM Only (it might be WCDMA Preferred also) to LTE.
4. Some users reported that in order to enable LTE they needed to create a new APN.

This tweak required only a few steps. So you might try and get your luck on. Since the LG Nexus 4 is 4G LTE enabled, but why Google never mention about it? 

Perhaps Google does not want Nexus fans to confuse with the 4G LTE connectivity since it only works at some particular countries or networks. Those living in United States and Canada benefited from this while others dont. 

So after all, you might just purchase a smartphone with 4G LTE connectivity which is not works in your country. Are you still interested to purchase the LG Nexus 4 or go for the LG Optimus G?

(GSM Insider) - T-Mobile official announces that three latest smartphones are heading to its stores in two weeks time - Nexus 4, HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 810. Nexus runs on Android while another two devices are run on Windows Phone 8.

The designs of the Nokia Lumia 810 and the Lumia 820 are slight different. Nokia Lumia 810 looks a bit more wider in the overall size. However, the display still remains at 4.3 inches with 800 x 400 resolution. The display of Lumia 810 comes with CBD technology and super sensitive touch display. The operating system is the latest Windows Phone 8.

Since it is the Nokia Lumia 820 variant, so the specs of Nokia Lumia 810 remains the same. It comes with 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor. It has 1GB of RAM memory and 8GB of ROM storage.
