(GSM Insider) - TCL P600 and P900 Are The First Two Devices Powered by MediaTek MT6589 Quad-Core Processor
Taiwanese company MediaTek launched its first ever quad-core processor - MediaTek MT6589 not long ago. MediaTek MT6589 is a low price quad-core processor which offers another alternative to the OEMs. Chinese manufacturer TCL is the first company offers MediaTek MT6589 powered devices.
Earlier today, TCL P600 and TCL Y900 were unveiled in China. The first device is the TCL P600. It has 4.5-inch qHD display which is water-proof. The body of TCL P600 is only 8.99mm thick which is very thin for a smartphone. It is powered by MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The rear camera of TCL P600 is 8-megapixels shooter. The Android version is 4.1 Jelly Bean. It supports dual-SIM and dual-standby mode as well as 1800mAh battery.
The second device is the TCL Y900. It is better than the TCL P600 in term of specs. TCL Y900 has a 5-inch display with 720p HD resolution. The body is only 8.5mm thick which is thinner than the TCL P600. This TCL Y900 also powered by MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor and supports dual-SIM and dual-standby mode. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean too.
Other devices that unveiled by TCL include TCL S850 with 6.45mm body, TCL S820 with 7.99mm body and supports dual-SIM and also TCL S520 that supports dual-SIM as well.
TCL P600 going to on sale in China on early 2013. The price is said to be around RMB $1499.
