TCL Y900 is the first smartphone to run on MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor. GSM Insider revealed TCL Y900 and P600 are powered by the low budget quad-core processor. This device is a dual-SIM smartphone.

TCL Y900 is a 5-inch phablet with 720p HD resolution. It is powered by 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core and 1GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. TCL Y900 packs with 8-megapixels main camera and 1.3-megapixels camera. Other features include bluetooth, WiFI, Mini USB and 3.5mm audio jack. TCL Y900 has 32GB of ROM and supports microSD expansion up to 64GB large.

This TCL Y900 is only available at China. It remains mysterious whether this device is going to launch globally.

TCL S850 scores 5572 points at the AnTuTu Benchmark result. The scores of twin brother Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra will be similar as well.

TCL S850 scores 2461 points at the Quadrant Benchmark result. It is lower than the LG Optimus 2X and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. However, it is better than the HTC Desire HD. 

TCL S850 scores 1061 points at the Vellamo HTML 5 benchmark.

TCL S850 scores 346 points for Vellamo Metal Benchmark

TCL S850 scores 15.2fps for Nenamark2 benchmark. 

TCL S850 with 15.2fps is better than the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and Motorola Droid X according to Nenamark2 benchmark.

The benchmark results showed that TCL S850 is indeed a middle range dual-core smartphone. It is believes that the same goes to the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra with the almost same range of specs. Hopefully these benchmarks able to provide information for you before making any purchase.

One day before, Alcatel unveiled the One Touch Idol Ultra. It is said to be the world's thinnest smartphone with 6.45mm body. Earlier today, there was another handset that makes appearance at the CES 2013 with the 6.45mm body. It is known as the TCL S850.

Actually, the TCL S850 and Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra are siblings. The Alcatel Mobile Phones company is owned by TCL and Alcatel-Lucent. In other words, both TCL and Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra are related to Chinese company, TCL. The Alcatel brand is for oversea markets while the TCL is focusing on domestic market.

The TCL S850 appearance at the CES 2013 showed that TCL is set to launch more devices under its own brand rather than Alcatel. In the same time, the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra is on its way to more countries soon. 

TCL S850 comes with 4.7-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of ROM, 8-megapixels of rear camera, 1.3-megapixels of front camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. 

Both TCL S850 and Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra do not come with 3.5mm audio due to the ultra thin body. The TCL S850 was launched in China back in mid-December last year.

Taiwanese company MediaTek launched its first ever quad-core processor - MediaTek MT6589 not long ago. MediaTek MT6589 is a low price quad-core processor which offers another alternative to the OEMs. Chinese manufacturer TCL is the first company offers MediaTek MT6589 powered devices.

Earlier today, TCL P600 and TCL Y900 were unveiled in China. The first device is the TCL P600. It has 4.5-inch qHD display which is water-proof. The body of TCL P600 is only 8.99mm thick which is very thin for a smartphone. It is powered by MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The rear camera of TCL P600 is 8-megapixels shooter. The Android version is 4.1 Jelly Bean. It supports dual-SIM and dual-standby mode as well as 1800mAh battery. 

The second device is the TCL Y900. It is better than the TCL P600 in term of specs. TCL Y900 has a 5-inch display with 720p HD resolution. The body is only 8.5mm thick which is thinner than the TCL P600. This TCL Y900 also powered by MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor and supports dual-SIM and dual-standby mode. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean too.

Other devices that unveiled by TCL include TCL S850 with 6.45mm body, TCL S820 with 7.99mm body and supports dual-SIM and also TCL S520 that supports dual-SIM as well. 

TCL P600 going to on sale in China on early 2013. The price is said to be around RMB $1499.
