(GSM Insider) - HTC One vs HTC Butterfly vs HTC Droid DNA - Specs Comparison Of Full HD Devices From HTC.
No company is more understanding about the 1080p Full HD display than HTC itself. In fact that HTC is the first company to introduce the 1080p Full HD smartphone / phablet. The HTC J Butterfly was launched in the Japanese market as the first 1080p Full HD smartphone / phablet in the world. Soon, the HTC Droid DNA which is the Verizon's variant and HTC Butterfly which is the global version were launched as well.
When the HTC One was launched, again HTC showed the ultra sharp display with 468 pixels per inch. It is indeed the display on smartphone and tablet with highest ppi. HTC Butterfly and HTC Droid DNA have 441ppi only on their displays. You can expect the display of HTC One is sharper than the HTC Butterfly and HTC Droid DNA especially when the 1080p Full HD resolution fits inside a 4.7-inch display which is smaller than the 5-inch.
Verdict
Basically, the HTC One and HTC Butterfly are serving different markets. The same goes to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2. HTC One with the display size of below 5-inch is targeting those smartphone lovers while the HTC Butterfly and HTC Droid DNA are targeting the phablet users. Although, the difference between 4.7-inch and 5-inch just as little as 0.3-inch, but the feeling is much more different when using it on hands.
HTC One has been added with so many new features like HTC Zoe, HTC BoomSound, HTC Blinkfeed and etc. These are the new features that available on the HTC Sense 5. Since the HTC Butterfly and HTC Droid DNA are running on HTC Sense 4+, so no such features for you all at the moment. Furthermore, the HTC One features the breakthrough HTC Ultrapixel Camera as well as the Zero Gap metal body.
If the HTC One was launched one year ago, HTC might not suffer slump and Samsung might not be the leader far far ahead. The launched of HTC One clearly reflects that the HTC One X was the main reason for the slump of HTC on last year. What do you think? Can HTC One brings the "real" HTC back?
