HTC One vs Sony Xperia Z - Ultrapixel Or Exmor RS Better? Camera Comparison

(GSM Insider) - HTC One vs Sony Xperia Z - Ultrapixel Or Exmor RS Better? Camera Comparison.

When the Sony Xperia Z was launched, Sony boasted about the ability of the Exmor RS camera inside the device. On the other hand, HTC One was launched with the first ever Ultrapixel camera. Actually which one better? Ultrapixel camera of the new HTC One or the Exmor RS camera of the waterproof Sony Xperia Z? See the image comparison at below.

HTC One photo sample, ISO 149, aperture f/2.0, shutter 1/100 second [click the image to enlarge]

Sony Xperia Z photo sample, ISO 320, aperture f/2.4, shutter 1/40 second [click the image to enlarge]

Photo from Ultrapixel Camera of HTC One before zoom

Zoomed in photo from Ultrapixel Camera.

From the first set of photos, the Ultrapixel Camera of HTC One successfully took the photo which is wider than the Exmor RS of Sony Xperia Z. On the other hand, after zooming in 100% of both photos, the photo taken by HTC One is clearly smaller than the Sony Xperia Z. This is because the Ultrapixel Camera has only 4-megapixels while Sony Xperia Z's camera has 13-megapixels. But the words on the poster still able to see from the photo of HTC One. [Extra reading: HTC One vs Sony Xperia Z - Specs comparison]

The second set of photos was taken under the direct sunlight at the Mobile World Congress 2013 event. It is  a difficult task for the camera as well as the cameraman in order to shoot a good photo. Basically, both photos from HTC One and Sony Xperia Z are equally good. But the photo of Sony Xperia Z is slightly better after zoomed-in. However, both images have the same sharpness from human raw eyes. [Extra reading: HTC One vs Nokia Lumia 920 - Camera comparison]

The third set of photos was taken under the high contrast situation. It is good to see how HTC One and Sony Xperia Z perform under the high contrast situation. After zooming in both images, the noise level of the photo from HTC One is higher than the Sony Xperia Z. Have a look at the column between two boards, the photo from HTC One has a slightly higher noise level as well.

The fourth set of photos was taken from HTC One. Sorry, the fourth set wasn't about Sony Xperia Z. The photo from HTC One that isn't zoom just similar like the photos from other devices. After the Ultrapixel Camera zoom, the photo turned blur like everyone expected. But the Ultrapixel Camera of HTC One performs better than other smartphones in the market. The photo wasn't "so" blur after zooming in, agree?

The comparison between the HTC One and Sony Xperia Z is just a guide for you to read on before purchase either one of these devices.

HTC One Scores More Than 25,000 Points At Latest AnTuTu Benchmark Test

(GSM Insdier) - HTC One Scores More Than 25,000 Points At AnTuTu Benchmark Test.

In the recent benchmark test, GSM Insider reported that HTC One scored around 22,000 points at the AnTuTu Benchmark test. Is the HTC One only with such low AnTuTu Benchmark points? The answer is no.

Folks at China succesfully obtained the points of HTC One from the AnTuTu Benchmark app. The highest point for HTC One is 25,300 points. Looks like someone able to tweak the HTC One to a more powerful device.

The Asus Padfone 2 with Snapdragon S4 Pro scored around 24,000 points at the same AnTuTu Benchmark test. If the Snapdragon 600 is 40% faster than its predecessor Snapdragon S4 Pro, then the 25,000 points by HTC One is the highest yet.

Anyone find out higher score of HTC One at AnTuTu Benchmark?

HTC One vs Nokia Lumia 920 - Ultrapixel Camera And PureView Camera, But Which One Better?

(GSM Insider) - HTC One vs Nokia Lumia 920 - Ultrapixel Camera And PureView Camera, But Which One Better?

In a recent post, GSM Insider compared the specs between the new HTC One against Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820. In this post, it's about the comparison between the Ultrapixel Camera and the PureView Camera.

When HTC launched the new HTC One, the main attention was focused on the Ultrapixel Camera. This Ultrapixel Camera is said to be a breakthrough for the smartphone and its time to say goodbye to megapixel.  On the other hand, Nokia brought the PureView Camera from the Nokia 808 PureView and used it in the Nokia Lumia 920. Nokia described the PureView Camera is the best in the industry. Since HTC and Nokia said that their own camera is the best, you might want to know the comparison between the Ultrapixel Camera and PureView Camera. The answers at below:

Image / photo captured by PureView Camera of Nokia Lumia 920

Image / photo captured by PureView Camera of Nokia Lumia 920

Image / photo captured by Ultrapixel Camera of new HTC One

Image / photo captured by Ultrapixel Camera of new HTC One

To remind you that the HTC One that captured these images above did not install with any software since it is not the final version. Only the HTC Zoe was running while the images being captured. On the other hand, the Nokia Lumia 920 is the consumer product. The PureView Camera with default settings being used for capturing the images above.

From the first set of images / photos, the one that captured by Nokia Lumia 920 is definitely looking sharper and brighter than the HTC One. The PureView Camera offers richer details about the image while Ultrapixel Camera not really impressive.

From the second set of images / photos, the one that captured by Ultrapixel Camera of HTC One looks a bit darker while the one captured by PureView of Nokia Lumia 920 looks sharper and rich in colors.

From the third set of images / photos, the answer is clear and the PureView Camera of Nokia Lumia 920 defeats the Ultrapixel Camera of HTC One. The image captured by the PureView Camera looks more golden in color while the Ultrapixel Camera's image looks grey-ish and darker.

Although the images above clearly showed that PureView Camera works greatly under the low light conditions. But more photo samples are require to proof the PureView Camera is the clear cut winner over the Ultrapixel Camera.
