(GSM Insider) - OEMs Prefer Processors From Qualcomm And MediaTek Than NVIDIA's Tegra 4.
Look like 2013 will be a difficult year for NVIDIA as its Tegra 4 facing stiff competition from other mobile processor makers.
According to Digitimes, NVIDIA is struggling to compete with Qualcomm, MediaTek and other Chinese based processor makers. Not Asus, not Acer and not LG that is taking the Tegra 4. It's the Toshiba.
Asus and Acer that flooding the tablet market are considering several alternatives in the market as no decision yet whether to produce any Tegra 4 powered tablet. Asus and Qualcomm enjoy a close partnership for tablet, so it remains doubt whether the Taiwanese based Asus will adopt Tegra 4.
Furthermore, NVIDIA plans to lower down the price of older model Tegra 3 in order to attract more OEMs. But the price will never lower than MediaTek and other Chinese based processor makers. Because their pricing is super low.
