(GSM Insider) - Asus Aims To Sell More Tablets Than Laptops In Year 2013.
Human needs more tablets than laptops? Perhaps, at least according to Asus. Asus states its aim in selling more tablets than laptops this year, 2013.
At the CES 2013, Asus told Pocket-lint that it expects the tablets to out sell laptops in this year. More consumers are getting the tablets in the market instead of the laptops. This is the current trend in the market which is similar with the case where consumers ditched desktops for laptops last time.
Asus admits that the tablet has upper hands over the laptops in the market. For example, the Asus made Nexus 7 is far more cheaper than any Asus laptops. The upgrade cycles of a tablet is 12 to 18 months while the it used about 2 - 3 years to upgrade a new laptop.
There are manufacturers decided to ditch the netbook and no longer produce netbook in the future. Perhaps the same fate going to happen on the laptop soon.
