(GSM Insider) - Android Jelly Bean Takes 13.6% Of Market Share In January 2013.
The latest Android graph for January 2013 was officially released by Google. The majority of Android devices still in Gingerbread, followed by Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean. The graph below shows the data that ending on February 4, 2013.
The Android Jelly Bean enjoys growth in the previous 30 days as it owns 13.6% of market share compares to 6.7% of December last year. This is mainly because most of the devices being updated to Jelly Bean from either Ice Cream Sandwich or Honeycomb.
The majority of the Android devices around the world still running on Gingerbread. Gingerbread owns about 45.6% of the market share. The Ice Cream Sandwich owns 29% of the market share.
The Honeycomb that was optimized for tablet declines in market share as it owns 1.3% only. The main reason because the Honeycomb devices being updated to either Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean.
Surprisingly, there are Android devices in some parts of the world still running on Donut, Eclair and Froyo.
