(GSM Insider) - After Samsung loses the lawsuit against Apple, they threaten to sue Apple if they release LTE-enabled devices. According to sources, Apple successfully purchased 4G LTE patents and set to compete with Samsung soon.
At the moment, Apple owns 318 patents of 4G LTE. 44 patents were own developed and others are purchase from other companies.
Samsung still leading the 4G LTE patents with 819 patents which equal to 12.7%, follows by InterDigital, and Huawei. Apple only owns 4.9% of 4G LTE patents. Therefore, Apple needs to work harder for more patents for them to fight with Samsung in the future. [Source]
