Kobo Glo and Kobo Mini Unveiled In Japan, Priced and Specs Detailed

(GSM Insider) - Kobo unveils two new eReader for the Japanese market - Kobo Glo and Kobo Mini. Both are different types of eReader that provide different features for consumer.


The Kobo Glo comes with a 6 inches no-glare e-ink display with XGA resolution. The battery life of Kobo Glo is up to a month. The WiFi connectivity of Kobo Glo allows users to access to the Kobo's eBookstore. 

The Kobo Mini is said to be the world's smallest and lightest "full-featured" e-ink reader. It has 5 inches of display. The size is smaller than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which has 5.5 inches of display. Surprisingly, Kobo Mini does not feature backlight. 

The price of Kobo Glo is ¥7,980 while the Kobo Mini is ¥6980. Kobo Glo ships on November 15, 2012 while Kobo Mini ships on mid-December.
