Do You Know The New Lightning Connector For iPhone 5 Is Still The Same Old USB 2.0?

(GSM Insider) - Lightning connector is one of the new features on the new iPhone 5. At the Apple keynote, Apple describes it as "All-digital, 8-signal design", "adaptive interface", "improved durability" and "reversible, easy to use".

From the description, we can imagined how "fast" the lightning cable. Perhaps it just as fast as the lightning struck? If you ever think like that, you are wrong. The new lightning connector is not any new technology, but just another same old USB 2.0.

The USB 2.0 cable connects your iPhone or iPod with Lightning connector to your computer's USB port for syncing and charging or to the Apple USB Power Adapter for convenience charging from wall outlet. -- Description of Lightning connection on Apple website.

As we found there are not much differences between iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S in terms of design. The new Lightning connector gives us a "fresh" feeling. This is not a bad thing thou.
