Is Apple Attempts To Block Google Maps App For Entering iOS App Store?

(GSM Insider) - When the announcement of iOS 6, we saw that Apple decided to remove some of the Google apps from its own operating system. This was one of the many changes that introduced by Apple CEO Tim Cook after the death of the late Steve Jobs.

After the removal of Google Maps from the iOS, Apple attempts to offer its own native maps app to the users. But this is nothing more than just a disappointment as there are too much mistakes found on the Apple maps that developed by TomTom. This clearly showed that Apple still far from developing own maps. Google still the king of maps and navigation.

Recently, Google introduced its YouTube app for iOS in the App Store. It is a standalone app which is not preloaded in the iOS 6. After the YouTube app, there are rumours stated that Google preparing the Google Maps app for the iOS 6. This is certainly a good news for those relying on Google Maps on iDevices for years. However, we are not sure whether this is a good news or bad news.

According to the Google employee, he remains pessimistic on the Google Maps app for iOS. He believed that the Google Maps unlikely to get approval. This shows that Apple is not fair enough. Apple definitely unwilling to allow the competitors to enter the App Store. With such decision, some iDevice users might go for Android devices if they relying heavily on the Google Maps.
