(GSM Insider) - Warning: Its Illegal In US For Unlocking Your Phone Starts From Today.
Thanks to the amendment on DCMA back in last October, it is illegal for you to unlock your phone in the United States without the consent of the carrier. The DCMA act is effective from today onward, January 26, 2013.
No matter you are under contract with the carrier or the contract runs out, you are unable to unlock your phone.
If you wish to turn against the carrier, the chances of getting caught is always there. Of course everything is done with your own risk. The best way is still purchasing the new phone if you really like it, but the money has been the main concern.
