(GSM Insider) - Broadcom To Take On Rivals With Its LTE Integrated Mobile Processor.
If you think the gadget market has too much options to choose from, then the same goes to the mobile processor market soon. Qualcomm, Samsung, NVIDIA, Texas Instrument, Intel and MediaTek are among the suppliers of mobile processor.
Broadcom is another company that joining the ranks soon. It is going to bring another alternative for OEM to use in tablet and smartphone.
Broadcom has licensed the ARMv7 and ARMv8 mobile processor architectures, and plans to use those licenses to build SoCs with integrated LTE. At the moment, this is only available at Qualcomm's SoCs.
ARMv7 is the basis for all current 32-bit ARM Cortex processors, like the A15 and A9 processors, while the ARMv8 architecture includes 64-bit execution.
