(GSM Insider) - Finally, XiaoMi is getting its own digital media receiver as well. This is another step from XiaoMi to follow Apple. One week ago, we reported that Mi TV was spotted side to side with the Apple TV. Few days later, we found out that Mi TV spotted with a remote control.
Earlier today, XiaoMi CEO Leijun confirmed that the announcement date of XiaoMi digital media receiver on November 14, 2012 which is 5 days from now. He added that it will be the most popular gadget from XiaoMi up to date.
According to rumour, Mi TV supports HDMI and AV connectivity. It remains unknown whether it will has the Air Play feature like the Apple TV. The XiaoMi digital media receiver is powered by Android. The price of Mi TV should be RMB $499.
There are no official name yet on the digital media receiver from XiaoMi. There are two possible names, XiaoMi TV or Mi TV.
