(GSM Insider) - HTC Droid DNA is the first 1080p Full HD smartphone to arrive at the United States. HTC Droid DNA is similar with the HTC J Butterfly in term of the specs. But this HTC Droid DNA only available exclusively at Verizon only.
Here's the good news is HTC Droid DNA offers by Verizon is the unlocked version and compatible with any GSM networks around the world.
From the specifications that listed at Verizon website, HTC Droid DNA indeed supports multiple networks. It supports the CDMA1x/EV-DO Rev A, LTE/DO Rx diversity of Verizon. In addition, it also supports the global Networks like the GSM (850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 1900MHz) and UMTS (850MHz, 900MHz, 1900MHz, 2100MHz).
Basically, this HTC Droid DNA is compatible with the AT&T network and T-Mobile as well. So no worries for you if you are taking this phone along for tour as you can use it with SIM cards from different countries as long as the networks are GSM network.
However, there is bad news after all. Although HTC Droid DNA is compatible with global GSM network, but it is only available exclusively at Verizon. At the moment, the HTC Droid DNA available at $199 for 2 years of commitment. There are no signs of Verizon going to sell without contract.
If you are from overseas and you have some American friends, perhaps you can asked them to ship you the phone to try out. But your friends must bear the contract.
