(GSM Insider) - NVIDIA Tegra 3 is the world's first quad-core ARM processor. The Tegra 3 powered HTC One X, Nexus 7 and Microsoft Surface RT. It is one of the popular mobile processor in the market.
With the introduction of Exynos 4412 and Snapdragon S4 Pro, the performance of Tegra 3 no longer as impressive as the other two rivals. Samsung Galaxy S3 with Exynos 4412 and LG Optimus G with Snapdragon S4 Pro clearly have upper hand over the HTC One X with Tegra 3.
According to our friend Fudzilla, NVIDIA set to announce the Tegra 4 in CES 2013 on January as the first appearance of Tegra 4 will be on MWC 2013 in February. It is still a few months to go before the Tegra 4 unveiled.
The codename of Tegra 4 is "Wayne". It adapted the Cortex-A15 architecture which is similar like the A6 processor of Apple. "Wayne" is set to feature 28nm technology as well. The frequency of Tegra 4 is between 1.8GHz and 2.0GHz. The LTE chip will be same like the one featured in Tegra 3+
The speed of Tegra 4 is said to be ten times faster then the Tegra 2 and it is double the speed of Tegra 3. In recent benchmarks, Tegra 4 easily beaten the Snapdragon S4 series processor. Tegra 4 is yet to test on Apple A6 and Exynos 5250.
