(GSM Insider) - After Amazon launched the Kindle Fire HD, competitor Barnes & Noble set to launch Nook Tablet 2 as well. There are rumours stated that Barnes & Noble set to introduce Nook Tablet 2 with Windows 8 operating system and abandon Android.
In May, Microsoft partnered with Barnes & Noble to introduce Windows 8 eReader in the future. With this partnership, Microsoft invested 300billion on Barnes & Noble and formed a new company. Microsoft will hold 17.6% shares of the new company.
Although the partnership is more about eReader, but the tablet market also very important to Barnes & Noble as well. It is very good to maintain competitive for Barnes & Noble in eReader and tablet markets. Since they are the partner, Barnes & Noble might interested to introduce Windows 8 Nook Tablet.
There are rumours said that the Windows on Nook Tablet going to be the Windows RT version and the processor to be the same as the Kindle Fire HD -- TI OMAP 4470 dual-core processor. Since Amazon Kindle tablets run on their own operating system, Nook tablet with more popular Windows operating system might wins the heart of consumer. [Source]
