XiaoMi Box Officially Unveiled, Digital Media Receiver For RMB $399

(GSM Insider) - XiaoMi added digital media receiver to its gadget line. The digital media receiver named as the "XiaoMi Box" or "XiaoMi Hezi". It has the AirPlay feature that found in Apple TV as well.

The specifications of XiaoMi Box is not as high end as you might think. XiaoMi Box comes with a 800MHz Cortex-A9 single core processor. It has a 1GB DDR3 RAM.

XiaoMi Box supports video formats included RM/RMVB、MKV、TS、FLV、AVI、VOB、MOV、WMV and MP4. The codecs support are H.264、VC-1、WMV-HD、MPEG1/2/4 and real7/8/9.

For the audio formats, XiaoMi Box supports MP3、WMA、APE、Flac and the codecs included MP3 64kbps～320kbps、WMA 64kbps～320kbps、APE/Flac≤1500Kbps.

XiaoMi Box has the features of DLNA, Airplay and Miracast. This brings the best combination between iOS devices and XiaoMi Box.

According to XiaoMi CEO Leijun, XiaoMi Box already set up partnership with local internet TV providers as you are available to watch up to 10,000 drama up to date.

XiaoMi Box available at two different prices - RMB $299 and RMB $399. If you are XiaoMi smartphone user, you are eligible to purchase for RMB $299 only.

Everything About XiaoMi Box Leaks Ahead of Annoucement

(GSM Insider) - There is still a day before the announcement, but seems like everything about the XiaoMi digital media receiver leaked at the internet.

Someone from the Weibo posted a series of images on the XiaoMi digital media receiver. Seems like the name will be the XiaoMi Box and not the much rumoured XiaoMi TV or Mi TV. 

The packaging of XiaoMi Box has a length of 12cm. It is similar with the size of Apple TV. From the back of packaging, it revealed the specs of XiaoMi Box. It has a 800MHz Cortex-A9 single core processor. The RAM is 1GB large but there are no information on the internal memory. It has microUSB port, HDMI port, AV port and other useful ports. 

From the specs, it is not a high end gadget that will arrive in the market. The processor is only a single core simple processor. If those specs are true, it considers a bit more expensive at the price of RMB $499. 

Although the specs are not high, but the quality and experience are certainly better than other digital media receivers in the Chinese market.

XiaoMi VP Showed Off The Inner Parts and Components of XiaoMi TV

(GSM Insider) - It is confirmed that XiaoMi set to unveil its own digital media receiver. The Xiaomi brand digital media receiver which is similar with the Apple TV. But it runs on Android.

Earlier today, XiaoMi Vice Chairman Li Wanqiang showed of the main board of the XiaoMi digital media receiver. He joked that those parts and components were made from gold and melted those components as well. From the leaked image, we hardly can analysed the "things" inside it. 

Off course this is just a joke. It is not a new thing if you found gold plated parts and components inside any electrical appliances. Those gold made components just made your devices more expensive. 

Earlier before, XiaoMi CEO Leijun confirmed that XiaoMi going to unveil this XiaoMi digital media receiver on November 14, 2012 in China. The price of the device will cost around RMB $499. 

Whether it will name as XiaoMi TV or Mi TV, we should wait for two more days.

XiaoMi CEO Confirmed Launch Digital Media Receiver On November 14

(GSM Insider) - Finally, XiaoMi is getting its own digital media receiver as well. This is another step from XiaoMi to follow Apple. One week ago, we reported that Mi TV was spotted side to side with the Apple TV. Few days later, we found out that Mi TV spotted with a remote control. 

Earlier today, XiaoMi CEO Leijun confirmed that the announcement date of XiaoMi digital media receiver on November 14, 2012 which is 5 days from now. He added that it will be the most popular gadget from XiaoMi up to date. 

According to rumour, Mi TV supports HDMI and AV connectivity. It remains unknown whether it will has the Air Play feature like the Apple TV. The XiaoMi digital media receiver is powered by Android. The price of Mi TV should be RMB $499.

There are no official name yet on the digital media receiver from XiaoMi. There are two possible names, XiaoMi TV or Mi TV.

The hardware in LG Nexus 4 and XiaoMi Phone 2 are quite similar. Both share Snapdragon S4 pro, Adreno 320 and 2GB of RAM memory. XiaoMi Phone 2 is the first smartphone to use Snapdragon S4 pro quad-core processor. Soon this processor getting popular among manufacturers. The processor in Huawei Honor 2 is the K3V2 which is developed by Huawei itself. 

The advantage of Huawei Honor 2 is it supports microSD expansion up to 32GB which is not available at rivals. The battery of Huawei Honor 2 also has the largest capacity among three devices.

XiaoMi TV vs Apple TV - Is XiaoMi Preparing An Android Digital Media Receiver?

Earlier this year, the XiaoMi Phone 2 unveiled by CEO Leijun in a keynote event which is similar like the keynote event of Apple. And now, XiaoMi is preparing the digital media receiver like the Apple TV. 

In the latest leaked image, it reveals that XiaoMi digital media receiver (also known as the XiaoMi TV) being placed side to side with the Apple TV. From the leaked image, it shows that the XiaoMi TV is larger than the Apple TV in size. 

According to tipster, XiaoMi TV still in the BETA stage. There are high possibilities that this XiaoMi TV is the prototype. XiaoMi TV is set to based on Android operating system and offers multiple channels. It is said that the XiaoMi TV comes with feature that similar to Apple's Airplay. 

Besides Airplay feature, XiaoMi TV also will feature HDMI port and AV port, this is to ensure it can connect to wireless and wired internet for the internet TV features. It might featured both AirPlay and DLNA as well. 

At the moment, all still at the testing stage. Nothing is official yet as the digital media receiver needs to get approval from Chinese government. The pricing of XiaoMi TV is around RMB $499 only.
