After Nikon and Samsung, another Android camera is coming to the market. It is the Polaroid Android camera. This Android powered digital camera was officially announced at the CES 2013. But the Polaroid Android camera is different from the others. Continue to read for more information. 



Polaroid iM1836 Android camera is the first Android powered digital camera that supports interchangeable lens. The Nikon Android camera and Samsung Galaxy camera are just pure digital camera and do not support interchangeable lens. The introduction of Polaroid iM1836 Android camera brings the Android camera into who new level. 

The Polaroid iM1836 Android camera is 18-megapixels with optical zoom of 10-30mm lens. The operating system is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The display of the Polaroid iM1836 Android camera is 3.5-inch LCD display. The Polaroid iM1836 Android camera features WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth.

The WiFi connectivity on Polaroid iM1836 Android camera allows the photo or video directly uploaded to social networks or cloud services from the device. There are many readers that interested to know whether this Polaroid iM1836 Android camera can makes calls and the answer is no. It doest not have any GSM network or WCDMA network. There is no SIM card slot in Polaroid iM1836 Android camera. Every connect using the WiFi and Bluetooth. 

Polaroid iM1836 Android camera will hit the market on Q1 2013 with the price of $399.

You might heard before Polaroid camera. How about Polaroid tablet? There are many people that never heard or see before the Polaroid brand tablet. But they are making appearance at the CES 2013 in Las Vegas. 


Polaroid M7 (image above) is a 7-inch Android tablet. It has a 7-inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution. It powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It features 8GB of internal memory and supports microSD expansion up to 64GB.


Polaroid M10 is a 10-inch slate. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The display is 10-inch with 1280 x 800 resolution. It powered by a quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It packs with 5-megapixels of rear camera and 2-megapixels of front camera. 

Both Polaroid M10 and Polaroid M7 are running on the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Polaroid M7 WiFi only model priced at $100 while Polaroid M10 WiFi only priced at $200. As there are no details on the availability of these two tablets yet.

(GSM Insider) - Polaroid iM1836 Leaks, Another Android Powered Digital Camera?

At the moment, there are two digital cameras from Samsung and Nikon that powered by Android operating system. Samsung Galaxy Camera is popular than the Nikon Coolpix S800c although both released at the same. And now, another Android powered digital camera coming soon. 


In the latest leaked image showed that Polaroid set to release Android camera as well. It is known as the Polaroid IM1836 Android camera. The leaked image in Russian language but it is not difficult to understand about the possible specs. 

Polaroid iM1836 is a 18-megapixels digital camera with 3.5-inch touch screen display. Polaroid iM1836 able to connect to the WiFi and supports HDMI port, microSD expansion and 3.5mm audio jack. One extra feature from Polaroid iM1836 as it is able for changing lens. But it is unable to make call. However, the Russian source did not state the Android version. 


Polaroid declared bankruptcy back in year 2001. Until 2009, it signed agreement Hong Kong based Summit Global Group to manufacture Polaroid brand digital camera again. Perhaps this is another weapon from Polaroid to turn the company around.
