Jelly Bean Update For Asus Transformer Prime TF201 Arrives In Sweden, Others To Follow

(GSM Insider) - The wait is over. The update is finally here in Sweden. Those who purchased Asus Trasformer Prime TF201 can update their device starts from today. However, it is available at Sweden only at the moment.




Besides Asus Transformer Prime, others like Asus Transformer Pad, Asus Transformer Pad Prime and Asus Transformer Pad Infinity are going to get Jelly Bean update later. This means the whole Asus Transformer Series tablets are going to get the 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

Possible Specs of Asus Padfone 2 Leak, Comes With Quad-Core, HD Display and 4G LTE

(GSM Insider) - Asus just announced that the Padfone 2 coming on October 16, 2012 in Italy and Taiwan. Asus set to held two event separately in Milan and Taipei. Taiwan is the home country of Asus and Italy is the main door to enter European markets. Less than one month to go for the event, the possible specs of Asus Padfone 2 leak as the box spotted online.


From the leaked image, we can see the model A68 which is the Asus Padfone 2. Asus Padfone is A66. Therefore, A68 is the upgraded version of A66. Here are the key specifications of Asus Padfone 2:

From the leaked specs, the Asus Padfone 2 looks very powerful. The 2GB RAM and the APQ8064 quad-core are the best combination for performance. The display is crystal clear with HD resolution. The main camera comes with 13MP shooter. However, there are no information on the Android version. We expect it comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean instead of the older 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Acer Founder: No Merging Plan for Both Asus And Acer At The Moment





(GSM Insider) - There are rumours said that Asus and Acer plan to merge in order to make them competitive in the PC market. And now, Acer founder Stan Shih quashed the rumours. 

According to Stan Shih, both Acer and Asus dont have the plan of merging. He added that there are more companies that will quit the PC market in long term. But mostly happen on HP or Dell in the future. 

Stan Shih said that the profits of PC market are not as high as the gadget market. The American already accepted that the PC market already on the declining level and they are ready to quit the market. Just like IBM sold their PC department to Chinese Lenovo. In opposite, Asian do not quit the market just like American as they have the love on the market where their companies started with. 

Although Stan Shih said there are no plan from both parties at the moment. But there are still possibilities for both companies to merge in order to become competitive in the market.  [Source]

Asus Renamed Tablet 600 and Tablet 810 To Vivo Tab RT and Vivo Tab



(GSM Insider) - ASUS announced that they are going to rename both Tablet 600 and Tablet 810. Tablet 600 to rename as Vivo Tab RT and Tablet 810 to rename as Vivo Tab. They only renamed the tablets and the specs still remain the same like those appeared at the Computex in June.

The Asus Vivo Tab RT (Tablet 600) is running on Windows RT operating system with NVIDIA Tegra 3 CPU processor. The Asus Vivo Tab (Tablet 810) is running on the Windows 8 operating system. It comes with Intel Atom processor. Both tablets come with USB 2.0 port that add more convenience to user.

Vodafone Confirms To Announce ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700KL LTE Tablet At IFA Event



(GSM Insider) - Recently, Vodafone confirms they are going to announce LTE version of ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 at the IFA event in Berlin. This LTE device set to rename as the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700KL.

There are not much difference between ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700KL LTE. One with the LTE enabled. The ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700KL comes with 10.1 inch display with 1920 x 1200 pixels and 8 MP camera. This tablet should comes with Android 4.0 ICS or above.

Asus Released 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For Transformer Pad TF300 Tablet


(GSM Insider) - A few weeks ago, ASUS announced that they will release the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Transformer series and EeePad Slider tablets. And now, they are starting to roll out update for them.

Mystery ASUS TF500T Tablet Arrives At FCC, Could Be Another Tablet Of Transformer Series



(GSM Insider) - A mystery tablet arrives at FCC - the Asus TF500T. From the rear side of the product, we can roughly see the design similiar to the Transformer Series of the Asus. In addition, from the model number of TF500T, it is similar with the model number of Transformer Pad (TF300) and pricier Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700). From this, we can predict that the ASUS TF500T tablet could be between both of those tablets.

From the FCC document, the tablet comes with WiFi, HDMI Port and a microphone port. The ASUS TF500T tablet could feature HD display. We still dont know whether this is an Android tablet or Windows tablet. However, the ASUS TF500T on the way to the USA. Stay tuned for latest updates. [Source]

Asus Explains It Took How Long To Build Google Nexus 7 Tablet



(GSM Insider) - Recently, ASUS stated that the build of Android powered Google Nexus 7 tablet is a kind of torture. But how many people know whats really going on with the partnership of Google and Asus on the Nexus 7 tablet. 

Forbes able to get an interviews with Head of ASUS UK regarding the build of Google Nexus 7 tablet. According to Yeh: "Our top executives met Google’s top executives at CES to talk about opportunities and how they saw the future market. That’s when we came up with the idea of the Google Nexus 7 by Asus. That was in January, and mass production started in May. 

So, that was four months. For a mass-market device, from concept to mass production, we’re talking about six to twelve months. Six months is very tight…"
