It is known that Sharp is the company that developed the IGZO display which is emphasized on the low battery consumption. Apple, Sony, Fujitsu and Asus are among OEMs that interested in the IGZO display from Sharp.


At the CEATEC 2013 in Japan, Sharp unveiled 6.1-inch IGZO display with the WQXGA resolution. The resolution of the display is extra high which is 2560 x 1600 pixels and 498ppi. This is exceeded the 1080p display in the market.

According to Sharp, the mass production of this display is yet to start. With the rapid changing in the smartphone market, display with such high resolution could make appearance on 2014.
