EXCLUSIVE: Microsoft and Huawei Set Up Partnership for Surface Phone

(GSM Insider) - Microsoft announced Surface tablet a few months ago but yet to release to the market because of the Windows 8 have not released yet. So the Surface tablet should arrive sometime after the launched of Windows 8. Is the tablet enough for Microsoft? No. Certainly not.

Latest tipster told us that Microsoft set their sight on smartphone market in the near future as they set to introduce the Surface phone. It is said that Microsoft and Huawei set up partnership in the development of Surface phone.

The tipster stated that Microsoft Surface phone is a low budget smartphone and not the high end exclusive smartphone. This is because Microsoft set to enter the low budget smartphone market especially in China. Chinese is very sensitive on the price of the smartphone and not willing to pay much on it. Therefore, it is wise to enter Chinese market with low end Surface phone. Furthermore, there are no information on whether this device going to run on Windows Phone 8

If the Surface phone from Huawei is a low budget device, it is able to compete with those Windows Phone device in the market. Just look at the sales performance of Google Nexus 7 which is priced at $199. The low price is very important for consumer.  [MSNerd]
