(GSM Insider) - It has been a year since the last announcement of Google Nexus smartphone, so it is the time for Google to introduce the new Nexus smartphone. We just received news that Google set to announce the latest Android version along with new Nexus on next month.
In the past, Google used to partner with different manufacturers for the Nexus smartphone. We can see from the first Google Nexus one with HTC while the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus from Samsung. The latest Nexus 7 tablet is built by Asus. It is logic that the Google give the Nexus for another new manufacturer.
The chance for LG has arrives as Google set to announce the Android 4.2 with LG next month.There are rumours said that the Android 4.2 version comes with the name of Key Lime Pie due to the name of Android version which is based on the desserts. With the announcement of Android 4.2, there will be a new Nexus smartphone as well.
There are many reasons for Google to choose LG as their forth Nexus smartphone maker. Firstly, they don’t want to provoke other manufacturers by giving the priority to Samsung. Samsung is the top when came to Android devices. Secondly, Motorola is the subsidiary of Google but no favoritism toward own company. Thirdly, LG is the master in display. It is already popular that LG produced one of the best display for smartphone in the market. There are rumours stated that LG is one of the manufacturers for iPhone display. Fourth, the performance of LG smartphone is not very bad at all. See the LG Optimus G for example.
There might be true if LG is the sole Nexus smartphone this year. But there are rumours stated that Google set to give Nexus smartphone forfive different manufacturers. Those manufacturers are among Samsung, LG, Sony,HTC and Motorola. There are rumours stated that Samsung preparing the Galaxy Nexus II, Sony working on the Xperia Nexus and HTC working on the Nexus 5 phablet. There are much rumours suggested that Google not really want to left out Motorola for Nexus as this is the golden chance for Motorola to go on top again.
As for LG, if it is the sole manufacturer for the fourth Nexus smartphone, the device might name as the LG Optimus Nexus. This Optimus Nexus might be the LG Optimus G variant.
