Maxis is The First To Launch Nano-SIM in Malaysia, Could Be The First To Launch iPhone 5 As Well

(GSM Insider) - With countries like Australia, Hong Kong and the United States getting the iPhone 5 crazy, those living in countries like Malaysia and Thailand certainly hope that iPhone 5 coming to local stores very soon. And now, seems like iPhone 5 also heading to Malaysia very soon.


Maxis is the first carrier in Malaysia to launch the Nano-SIM card ahead of other carriers like Digi, Celcom and U Mobile. The Nano-SIM card is one of the latest feature of iPhone 5 as Apple decided to change the micro-SIM in iPhone 4/4S. 

However, the service is not free as subscribers need to pay MYR 25 for changing to Nano-SIM. Those who interested in changing their SIM-card to Nano-SIM can visit Maxis stores start from 24 of September. Although the iPhone 5 not available at the moment, those who purchased the unlocked iPhone 5 from overseas and heading to Maxis stores as well.

According to tipster, the introduction of Nano-SIM hints at iPhone 5 coming soon to Maxis. In the past, Maxis is the premium partner of Apple in Malaysia. Maxis used to offer iPhone ahead of other carriers in Malaysia. With the introduction of Nano-SIM, iPhone 5 coming to Malaysia very soon.  [Source]
