Acer Set To Launch More Low Budget Tablets This Year After Robust Demand

(GSM Insider) - Acer Set To Launch More Low Budget Tablets This Year After Robust Demand.

Recently, Acer launched the Acer Iconia B1 tablet. It is the first low budget tablet from the Taiwanese company. The Acer Iconia B1 costs about $169 but only available in Taiwan at the moment.

According to Scott Lin, Acer's senior vice president and president of its Greater China operations stated that Acer set to launch more low budget tablets in the sizes of 8-inch and 10-inch. This is because the Acer Iconia B1 enjoys robust demand in Taiwan.

In Taiwan, the Acer Iconia B1 sold more than 7,000 units in the first 10 days on sale and the monthly sales could reach nearly 10,000 units per month. "The 7-inch tablet may not be eye-catching, but they could help Acer goes from zero to hero," Lin added.

As the tablet market is still dominated by the Apple, Acer hopes that the impressive streak of the Acer Iconia B1 will extend to more countries in the future. Acer is more abput tablet instead of the smartphone
