(GSM Insider) - In the past, Sony did not produce quad-core smartphones as they think it is not a correct time for the quad-core yet. Therefore, all current Sony smartphones are running on dual-core processor only. However, things might change very soon.
According to source, Sony set to release its new flagship smartphone in the near future. The codename of the smartphone is "Odin". The "Odin" set to come with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Furthermore, the processor is a Cortex A15 architecture quad-core processor. The display size set at 4.7 inches with at least 720p HD resolution.
At the moment, these are the information on the "Odin". It is unknown whether Sony going to use what model of quad-core processor. Most of the specs in Sony smartphones are lower than others and the Android version also not the newest as well. These have been the disadvantages of Sony in the past.
If Sony really preparing on the quad-core smartphone with Jelly Bean. We hope that it is true as another high end device coming to the smartphone market. There are high percentage that this is the Sony Xperia Nexus as well. This is because Sony is one of the manufacturers to introduce the fourth generation Nexus smartphone Google.
