From the overall comparison, Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is not the competitor for original Galaxy S3 and it is not an alternative for original Galaxy S3. However, there are many similarities between both devices as they comes with NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, S Beam, S Voice and DLNA Sharing. Galaxy S3 I9300 does not support LTE so does the Galaxy S3 Mini. Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE with the model number of I9305 is the one with LTE connectivity. One advantage of Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is it preloaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. So you no longer need to wait for update like the Samsung Galaxy S3.
