(GSM Insider) - The iPhone 5 is the first ever iPhone to use Nano-SIM. Previous versions of iPhone are used micro-SIM inside. And now, nano-SIM manufacturer Giesecke & Devrient stated that users unable to cut micro-SIM or normal SIM card into the size of nano-SIM.
All the SIM cards in our mobile phone are invented by Giesecke & Devrient no matter it is a normal SIM card or micro-SIM. Previously, users can cut the normal SIM card into the size of micro-SIM and used it directly without need to change the SIM card. According to Giesecke & Devrient, users need to change for new nano-SIM card if they decided to purchase iPhone 5. Even they cut the size of micro-SIM into the same size like nano-SIM, it is still unable to insert into iPhone 5 SIM tray as the thickness of nano-SIM is not the same like micro-SIM.
