(GSM Insider) - Google just releases the statistics of Android ecosystem. In the latest report, the Ice Cream Sandwich has 20.9% which has increases from the previous months.
From Google's report, the 2.3 Gingerbread still running on the majority of the Android devices in the world with 57.5% of overall. The Honeycomb has decreases and the market share at the moment is 2.1% only. The main reason for this is many of tablets that running on 3.0 Honeycomb already upgraded to the 4.0 ICS.
There are still devices that running on 1.5 Cupcake with only 0.2% and the 1.6 Donut version on 0.4%. There are still 14% of Android devices running on the 2.2 Froyo and 3.7% running on 2.1 Eclair.
The latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has 1.2% of market share. This is because of the sales of Google Nexus 7 tablet and Galaxy Nexus received the update. We shall see the increases in ICS and slightly increase for Jelly Bean. Anyone, the Gingerbread will still dominate the Android ecosystem. [Source]
