Both smartphones are powered by the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) platform skinned with HTC’s Sense 4.0 UI. They also share a 5-megapixel camera as well. And aside from 512MB RAM, both devices come equipped with connectivity options like HSPA, WiFi, and WiFi hotspot. Other features they share include A-GPS and Bluetooth. They also share the same internal memory at 4GB and a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB.

However, they are quite a number of differences between both devices - the Desire C has a 600MHz processor while the One V has a 1GHz single-core processor. The Desire C has slightly smaller 3.5-inch screen but the One V has a 3.7-inch screen with the higher resolution (480 x 800 pixels vs 320 x 480 pixels).

Physically, the One V is the taller and leaner compared against the Desire C. However, it is thicker compared to the Desire C (115 g vs 110 g).

While they share the same 5-megapixels, the One V’s imager has the ability to record 720p videos and capture still shots at the same time. It also has the WiFi direct connectivity and Beats Audio for improved audio quality.

Both are with recommended retail price at S$ 398 without contract commitment.

So which device should you pick? Both are budget devices packing some decent hardware, but the One V with its bigger screen and extra connectivity options edges out its budget counterpart in this comparison.
