LG Mobile Confirms Working On Android 4.0 ICS Update For Optimus 2X



(GSM Insider) - Still remember LG Optimus 2X? The world's first dual-core smartphone (we are now in the quad-core world with Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD) that launched in early 2011. 

The users of LG Optimus 2X must be frustrated for long time as lack of supports for upgrading from LG. The LG Optimus 2X stucked for the 2.3 Gingerbread for very long time.

Recently, there are news stated that no more update coming for the LG Optimus 2X. But now LG Mobile Korea stated that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on the testing progress. As LG Mobile wants to ensure the update in stable before officially release to users. 

At the moment, the update is working for the Korean version. However, we not sure whether the update coming to all LG Optimus 2X.  [Source]

MetroPCS Launched Voice over LTE (VoLTE), One Day Ahead of Korea's SK Telecom



(GSM Insider) - Today, MetroPCS announced Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services in the United States. This Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services would be the World's first Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services. Although Metro PCS aren't the largest carrier, but they certainly beat the SK Telecom from Korea as the World's first Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services. MetroPCS also says that its first VoLTE-compatible device was sold at the one of its Dallas stores. 

Traditional voice calls use GSM and CDMA technology, while the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) uses packet switching technology. MetroPCS users, are you ready for Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services?
