The latest device from RAmos is the RAmos W42 tablet. It has a 9.4-inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution. RAmos W42 is powered by Samsung Exynos 4412 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and Mali-400 GPU. So it isn’t a bad tablet after all. 

 Other specs include 16GB of ROM, a MicroSD slot, front-facing camera and rear facing camera. The RAmos W42 is running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. RAmos W42 is selling at the price of $200 only which is considered very cheap.

In the past, Acer brand smartphones were not any high-end devices. So the latest device that arrives won’t bring any surprise. The Acer Liquid E1 is the latest smartphone from the Taiwanese company that running on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

Acer Liquid E1 is a mid-range smartphone with 4.5-inch display. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The display resolution is only at 960 x 540 pixels. Other specs include 4GB of ROM, a MicroSD slot, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and HSPA connectivity.

Acer Liquid E1 is equipped with VGA front-facing camera and 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. The Acer Liquid E1 measured at 132 x 68.5 x 9.9mm and around 130g in weight.

The pricing and availability of Acer Liquid E1 are yet to unveil by Acer. We shall see the appearance of Acer Liquid E1 at Mobile World Congress 2013 on next month.

Earlier yesterday, Mozilla announces that two developer devices for its Firefox OS - the Keon and the Peak. These two devices are for developers to work out with the latest mobile operating system. 

These two devices are the products from Mozilla and GeeksPhone under the partnership. These two devices are running on HTML5-based Firefox OS. But both devices are low end smartphones that Mozilla aims to counter-attack on other emerging market. 

The Keon is equipped with a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 1GHz single-core Snapdragon S1 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a micro SD slot and a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The Peak has slightly better specs, although it will still be considered a low-end device by today’s standards. The smartphone features a 4.3-inch qHD display, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and an 8-megapixel rear camera. 

No pricing yet on these two devices. But the developer devices will launch in February this year, 2013.

There are a lot of mobile processor manufacturers in the market that launched their new processor. MediaTek unveiled the MT6589 quad-core, NVIDIA unveiled Tegra 4 quad-core, Qualcomm unveiled Snapdragon 800, 600, 400 and 200 while Samsung unveiled the Exynos 5 Octa. ST-Ericsson is the latest company that launches its new processor.

The latest processor from ST-Ericsson is NovaThor L8580. NovaThor L8580 has four Cortex-A9 cores that each be clocked up to 2.5GHz and will only consume 0.6V of power with normal usage. NovaThor L8580 will use 50% less power than its competitors.

The SoC uses the PowerVR SGX544 graphics from Imagination Technologies running at 600 MHz, which can power displays with resolutions up to 1920×1200. Most important is NovaThor L8580 comes with LTE built in. 

Within this year, Huawei also set to launch its Hi-Silicon K3V3 Octa cores processor. But around 2H of 2013.
