(GSM Insider) - Windows 8 Increases To 1.64% On December 2012 But Windows 7 Remains Majority.

It has been a few months since the Windows 8 was launched to the market. But the growth is not impressive at all. Many experts were criticized the Windows 8 for being slow in the growth compare to other predecessor. 


According to latest statistics released by Net Applications, Windows operating system holds 91.8% of worldwide OS market share for the month December 2012. Mac OS owns 7.1% and Linux OS owns 1.2%.

The majority of Windows OS is the Windows 7 version with 45.11% followed by Windows XP with 39.08%, Windows Vista at 5.67% and Windows 8 at 1.65%.

Windows 8 increases from 1.09% to 1.64%, Windows 7 increases from 44.71% to 45.11%, Windows XP decreases from 39.82% to 39.08% and Windows Vista decrases from 5.70% to 5.67%.

GSM Insider predicts that Windows 8 and 7 continue in growth for the coming month. The statistics were obtained from 160 million independent users.
