First Ubuntu Smartphone Doesn't Have An App Store

(GSM Insider) - First Ubuntu Smartphone Doesn't Have An App Store.

If you want an Ubuntu smartphone, then this must be a disappointed news for you.

According to the product manager of Canonical, the first Ubuntu smartphone is just a simple device.

"In terms of our first go-to-market product strategy, the intention is not to have an application store full of ready-made applications that are there to download. We have a very definite approach in terms of addressing a very important part of the market where users are primarily interested in being able to use a core set of applications." - Richard Collins, product manager at Canonical.

Although Richard Collins said that the first Ubuntu smartphone will launch with app store, but it doesn't mean the apps will not available in the future. The first Ubuntu smartphone will still receive the app store in the future after every is ready to go.
