Bloomberg: HTC Cancels Plan For Windows Phone 8 Phablet With 1080p Full HD Display

(GSM Insider) - Bloomberg: HTC Cancels Plan For Windows Phone 8 Phablet With 1080p Full HD Display

Nokia Lumia 920 having the highest resolution among other Windows Phone 8 devices in the market. It has 720p HD resolution. So Windows Phone 8 with Full HD resolution coming soon?

The answer is no. This is because the Windows Phone 8 operating system does not support 1080p Full HD resolution. At the moment, it only supports 720p resolution. This is something Microsoft should improve on.

Supposely, HTC is planning on the Windows Phone 8 phablet with larger screen and the resolution beyond 720p. But the system is not compatible. So HTC is cancels the plan on WP8 phablet, according to Bloomberg.

This is certainly the disadvantage from the Windows Phone. It is not a wise idea from Microsoft in limit the display resolution as well as the processor model.

Rivals of Windows Phone, Android and iOS 6 supports the resolution beyond 720p. So it is definitely a must for Microsoft to catch up with both of these rivals to remain competitive.
