Today, Happy Birthday To Android As It Turns 5 Years Old

(GSM Insider) - It is hard to believe that time past so fast. It was five years go on today when the most popular operating system born. Android was created on November 5th, 2007. From the Android 1.0 to the current Android 4.2, it shows how fast the technology evolved in the five years. 


The first ever Android smartphone was the HTC Dream which is known as the T-Mobile G1 as well that released in 2008. It had 3.2 inches of display, 3.15 mega-pixel of camera, only 192MB of RAM and Android 1.0. HTC Dream successfully updated to Android 1.6 donut later. 

After 5 years, what are the differences? Just look at the LG Nexus 4 that released recently. It has 4.7 inches of HD display, 8 mega-pixel of camera, 2GB of RAM and the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The RAM memory of LG Nexus 4 is larger than some of the computers and laptops in the world. The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean also featuring the Photo Sphere, Google Now and other features. Five years ago, who will think that these features will be invented? No body. 

Perhaps we should grateful that the Android under the guidance of Google. It turned out to be the most popular mobile operating system at the moment. Android smartphones bring numerous convenience to human life. But the dependency of smartphone also increasing day by day. Five years more from now, can you predict whats going to come from Android?
