2.7% of Android Devices Now On 4.1 Jelly Bean, Gingerbread Remains Majority

(GSM Insider) - In the latest stats released by Google, it shows that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean market share is increasing within the Android device market. However, the dominate version still is the Jelly Bean.


According to the statistic from Android, Gingerbread remains the majority as it has 54.2%. The second is the Ice Cream Sandwich that holds 25.8% after all. We see drastic declining on Honeycomb as it only has 1.8% after all. This is probably many Honeycomb device already upgraded to version 4.0.

As manufacturers slow to roll out the Jelly Bean update, it has 2.7% of total Android devices. Cupcake and Donut have less than 1%. The Eclair has 3.1% and the Froyo has 12%. With the introduction of Nexus devices, we shall see Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in the next report.
