Japanese Carrier KDDI Unveils World's First IGZO Display Tablet - AQUOS Pad SHT21

(GSM Insider) - Yesterday, we reported that Sharp set to unveil IGZO tablet in the near future. Seems like the news is true as Sharp unveils its first ever IGZO display tablet which is the AQUOS Pad SHT21. Sharp Aquos Phone Zeta SH-02E is the first ever smartphone with IGZO display.

Here are the key specifications of KDDI Sharp AQUOS Pad SHT21 tablet:

Display: 7 inches Sharp's IGZO display
Display resolution: 1280 x 800
Processor: 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 dual-core
RAM: 1GB
ROM: 16GB
Operating system: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Custom UI
Connectivity: 4G LTE, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, 1Seg TV
Battery capacity: 3460mAh

Since the IGZO display has the lower power consumption then others, Sharp promised that the battery life is 2.5 times longer then ordinary tablet. Furthermore, Sharp AQUOS Pad SHT21 tablet has NFC and 4G LTE enabled. The 4G LTE is compatible with the KDDI Network.

KDDI set to release the Sharp AQUOS Pad SHT21 in December this year. With this tablet, can we expect more tablet and smartphone using the IGZO display?
