From the image above, we can clearly see the white cable is the 9-pin connector from Apple and the black colour is the micro USB cable. The sizes of both are almost similar as the 9-pin connector is a bit longer than the micro USB. So you can expect the 9-pin dock connector in the same size range with micro USB.
