Apple Acquired Lightning Trademark From Harley-Davidson For Its Products

(GSM Insider) - We knew that the latest batch of Apple products featuring the newly designed cable which is known as the "Lightning". In order for Apple to release the "Lightning" products, it needs to overcome the trademark issue first.

The "Lightning" trademark is owned by motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson. But Apple successfully acquired some parts of the "Lightning" from the motorcycle manufacturer. 

Although Apple yet to acquire full trademark, but the current deal allows Apple to release its cable with the "Lightning" term. But Apple cannot releases the products that related to the Harley-Davidson such as helmets or other Motor accessories.
