(GSM Insider) - HTC 8X And Samsung ATIV Carrying The Qualcomm And Windows Phone Flags At MWC 2013 [Hands-on Images].

Besides the Android devices that appeared at Qualcomm's MWC 2013 booth, Windows Phones with Qualcomm processor inside did make an appearance as well. HTC 8X and Samsung ATIV S were spotted on the floors of the event.

HTC 8X which is known as the Windows Phone 8X has a 4.3-inch display with 720p HD resolution, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, 8-megapixels main camera, 2.1-megapixels front camera, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE-enabled. HTC 8X has the wireless charging feature as well.

Samsung ATIV S has a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display. The design if Samsung ATIV S is similar with the Samsung Galaxy S3. Samsung ATIV S is powered by MSM8260A dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB/16GB internal memory. The camera is 1.9-megapixel for the front and 8-megapixels for the rear camera. It has 2300mAh battery on board.

At the Mobile World Congress 2013, ZTE not only showcased the Firefox OS handset but also showcased Windows 8 tablet on floors.

ZTE V98 tablet was spotted on the floors of Mobile World Congress 2013. ZTE V98 is powered by 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760 processor. ZTE V98 is a 10.1-inch tablet with 1366 x 768 resolution. The body of ZTE V98 is only 8.9mm thickness. ZTE V98 packs with 8-megapixels main camera and 2-megapixels front-facing camera. Further specs include 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory on board.

ZTE V98 Windows 8 tablet supported WCMDA network. So, it is working at the WCDMA networks around the world.

At the Mobile World Congress 2013, Nokia unveils Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia Lumia 720 for the global market. There is another new that not to be left out is the Nokia Lumia 521. This Nokia Lumia 521 is not for the global market but exclusively for the T-Mobile USA only. 

From the model number, it is the Nokia Lumia 520 variant for the United States carrier. One thing for sure is the Nokia Lumia 521 works with the HSPA+ network of T-Mobile USA. At the moment, not much specs and information about this device.

At the Mobile World Congress 2013, Nokia unveils its latest Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520. Nokia Lumia 720 is a mid-range Windows Phone while Nokia Lumia 520 is the cheapest Windows Phone 8 device to-date. 

The good news is both Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 heading to the Chinese market soon. The Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 will arrive at China Mobile as different variants. China is the world's largest carrier with the most subscribers. So it is a wise move for Nokia to partner with China Mobile and brings the Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 to the Chinese market. The most important is both of these devices are affordable for the local people.

At the Nokia Press Conference of Mobile World Congress 2013, CEO Stephen Elop announces that the Windows Phone now has more than 130,000 apps. 

The Windows Phone apps are certainly lesser than the Android and iOS that have more than half million each. But the steady growth of Windows Phone ensures that its apps also enjoying growth.

The application is important to the smartphone users because the app can be used to connect with each others. There are games, utility tools and other apps that important to smartphone users. Microsoft needs to ensure its Windows Phone Store offers large varieties of apps to challenge the Android and iOS

Nokia Lumia 520 features a 4-inch display with 800 x 480 resolution, 1GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. The Nokia Lumia 520 packs with 5-megapixels rear-facing camera but without front-facing camera. 

Other features of Nokia Lumia 520 include NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, a MicroUSB slot and a MicroSD slot. Nokia Lumia 520 runs on Windows Phone 8 platform. The measurement of Nokia Lumia 520 is 119.9 x 64 x 9.9 mm while the it has 124g in weight. 

Nokia Lumia 520 is priced at $341 but no release date yet.

Other features of Nokia Lumia 720 include NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, a MicroUSB slot and a MicroSD slot. Nokia Lumia 720 runs on Windows Phone 8 platform. The measurement of Nokia Lumia 720 is 127.9 x 67.5 x 9 mm while the it has 128g in weight. 

Nokia Lumia 720 heading to China and Asia Pacific markets on later of the second quarter this year. The Nokia Lumia 720 is priced at $341.

At the Mobile World Congress 2013, Nokia officially unveils two new Windows Phone 8 devices: Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520. The Nokia Lumia 520 boasts to be the world's cheapest Windows Phone 8 device.



First is the Nokia Lumia 720. From the name, you can understand that it is lower specs than the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820. Nokia Lumia 720 has a 4.3-inch display along with 1GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor. It has 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. An additional MicroSD slot is available too. 

Nokia Lumia 720 packs with 6.7-megapixels rear-facing camera and 1.3-megapixel front camera. The 6.7-megapxiels camera is a good one but not yet the standard of PureView. This Windows Phone 8 device vailable in red, yellow, cyan, black and white. It is heading to China and Asia Pacific later this quarter with the price of $341. 

Second is the Nokia Lumia 520 which is said to be the world's cheapest Windows Phone 8 device to date. It is touted as the successor of Nokia Lumia 510. Nokia Lumia 520 features a 4-inch WVGA LCD display, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. This might be a low end device but it features a MicroSD slot for expansion. The display comes with super sensitive touch support too. Nokia Lumia 520 heads to T-Mobile USA later this year. The price of Nokia Lumia 520 is set at $183.

(GSM Insider) - LG Not Going To Release New Windows Phone 8 Handset, Described The Market Isn't Huge Enough.

Recently, there have been rumors stated that LG is going to launch its new Windows Phone 8 handset at the Mobile World Congress 2013. It's going to be a disappointed for those who waiting for Windows Phone 8 device from LG as the answer is no. 


According to CNET, a LG spokesman said that LG is not going to release any new Windows Phone 8 in the near future. This is because the Windows Phone market isn't huge enough. In other words, LG doesn't rule out completely about the Windows Phone.

The spokesman added that LG will return to the Windows Phone market once the market is large enough. From this statement, this shows that LG not going to release any Windows Phone 8 handset in the near future.

According to sources, Nokia set to introduce a new series of smartphones. The new series is focusing on low budget devices as the main target is the low budget market. 

Recently, Nokia released the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 that both considered as the high end devices in the market. With these two devices, Nokia unable to compete with ZTE and Huawei in the low budget market. But things are going to change soon.

Nokia set to introduce low budget devices at the Mobile World Congress 2013. The Finnish company hopes that the low budget devices able to provide certain competition to ZTE and Huawei in the low end market like China, India and Africa.

With a few days to go to the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, Asus releases the teaser about the event. One thing for sure is Asus will bring new devices to the event. 



From the video, Asus did focus on the Barcelona City. The teaser gave us two possible hints: Ultimate Craftsmanship and Metallic Miracle. Seems like the Taiwanese company prepares for more metallic finished devices with nice design.

Display and resolution

HTC One with the largest display and the highest resolution among all three devices. The HTC One packs with 4.7-inch display with 1080p FHD resolution. The Nokia Lumia 920 packs with 4.5-inch display and the resolution of 1280 x 768. Processor, RAM and GPU

HTC One is powered by the 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 320 GPU. The Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 are powered by the same 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and Adreno 225. Camera

Many would say that the PureView camera in Nokia Lumia 920 is the best camera for smartphone before they launched of the HTC Ultrapixel Camera. Now, the HTC Ultrapixel Camera already unveiled. This is going to be a hard battle between the PureView and HTC Ultrapixel Camera. At this point of the battle, the megapixels no longer relevant as the image quality is more important. 

Internal memory

For the internal memory, HTC One  is available in 32GB and 64GB version. Nokia Lumia 920 has 32GB while Nokia Lumia 820 has 8GB of internal memory. HTC One and Nokia Lumia 920 doesn't support MicroSD expansion but the lower end Nokia Lumia 820 does support MicroSD expansion.

Design

Nokia Lumia 920 is the heaviest followed by Nokia Lumia 820 and HTC One. HTC One is the thickest followed by Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920. Nokia Lumia 920 is more bulky on hands while HTC One provides slim feels on hands.
