HTC Rolls Out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For One X Worldwide

(GSM Insider) - Finally, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is arriving to your HTC One X smartphone as HTC already releasing the update worldwide.


According to our readers from Malaysia, the HTC One X that he owned already received the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update and HTC Sense 4+ update. There were reports stated that the updates also arrived at the users in Brazil, Sri Lanka, UK, Russia, Argentina and other regions.

It is true that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update arriving global version of HTC One X. However, it is yet to available for the AT&T HTC One X variant. But it is expects to available soon. 

After the HTC One X updated to Jelly Bean, there will be added features like Beats Audio integration, HTC Media Link, New Gallery view, Google Now, and other customizable widgets. Check for update at Settings and system update.

HTC Confirmed No Jelly Bean Update For Devices With 512MB RAM or Less

(GSM Insider) - If you are HTC user, you might interested to know when your device will receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Seems like now HTC already got the answer for you regarding the Jelly Bean update.


In the latest "Updates on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and Frequently Asked Questions" that appeared at HTC, it did state out the requirements for a HTC device to receive Jelly Bean update.

HTC stated that at the moment, HTC One X and HTC One S along with other devices that launched in 2012 are its priority to work on the Jelly Bean. Devices in 2011 will come after this.

HTC did not give any timeline when the Jelly Bean update will full released to the users as it needs to make sure the Jelly Bean update perfect for the device before release.

Here's the interesting part - "In general, devices with 512MB RAM or less will not be upgraded to Android 4.1. At present, these devices include the HTC One V and the HTC Desire C.

So now you roughly can know which device will not getting the Jelly Bean update. However, HTC reaffirmed that there will updates for the devices even without the Jelly Bean update.

(GSM Insider) - After the launched of HTC One X to the market, the sales numbers were not impressive after all. As a result, HTC decided to release HTC One X+ which is the upgraded version. The design still the same overall only the inner specs had improve. How is the performance when the HTC One X+ and HTC One X come against the latest Nexus?

Basically, it is a tough fight for the HTC brother against the Google flagship smartphone. HTC One X+ with the improved Tegra 3 which is slightly better than the Snapdragon S4 Pro in LG Nexus 4. However, it is disappointed that HTC never increased the RAM memory to 2GB. 2GB is far more better for the multitasking. 

All these three devices do not support microSD expansion. LG Nexus 4 has the smallest internal memory between all three as HTC One X+ has the largest with 64GB. The battery of HTC One X+ had improved as well to 2100mAh which is similar with the LG Nexus 4. LG Nexus 4 is the current Android smartphone with 4.2 Jelly Bean. Therefore, HTC One X+ and HTC One X have the older Android version.
