China Unicom Denies iPhone 5 Launch Date On November 20, 2012

(GSM Insider) - Yesterday we reported that China Unicom set to launch the iPhone 5 on November 20, 2012 after several China Unicom retailers posted the information through Weibo. But seems like China Unicom itself denies on this news. 


Someone from the inner department of China Unicom confirms that they have yet to receive any notifications from Apple on the launch date of iPhone 5

On October 30, 2012, WCDMA and CDMA version of iPhone 5 already received approval from Chinese government. The launch date should be around the corner. 

For more information, Apple CEO Tim Cook did stated that Apple set to release the iPhone 5 sometime in the December. China Unicom and China Telecom already preparing on the arrival of iPhone 5. The launch date of iPhone 5 could be mid-December instead of November. We shall update you soon on this.

China Unicom Confirms Apple iPhone 5 Launch Date on November 20, 2012, Available For Free!

(GSM Insider) - It was confirmed that the latest iPhone from Apple is heading to China. The iPhone 5 is set to land on the China shore on November 20, 2012. It will available through China Unicom.

Update: China Unicom denies the rumour. Tim Cook stated that the launch will be December. 



Several China Unicom retailers officially announced this news through its Weibo. They stated that the launch date of fifth generation iPhone is set on November 20, 2012. 

There are multiple plans offer by China Unicom. Apple iPhone 5 available for free if you signed a three year contract with 286 per month with China Unicom. It is a good news for those who getting the iPhone 5. 

At the moment, no news yet on the launch date of China Telecom. But we reported that the launch date for both carriers are the same.

China Telecom And China Unicom To Launch Apple iPhone 5 Same Time On December

(GSM Insider) - iPhone 5 is the latest smartphone from Apple that it enhanced the specs from the previous iPhone 4/4S. The sales of iPhone 5 in the United States hit recording breaking numbers recently. Since there are huge market in China, Apple certainly interested to release iPhone 5 in China as well.


According to Sina Tech, it is imminent that China Unicom set to launch the iPhone 5 on December. In order to make sure the fair treatment to China Telecom and China Unicom, Apple might order both carriers offer the iPhone 5 at the same time. Last week, the iPhone 5 already approved by Chinese government which is safety for release. It is just the matter of time before iPhone 5 launch in the market. Seems like iPhone 5 is going to miss out from China Mobile due to the network issue. All three main carriers in China are offering different network frequency.

China Unicom VP Confirms iPhone 5 Coming To China by Year End

(GSM Insider) - Last week, the pre-order of Apple iPhone 5 started at China Unicom store in Guangdong, China. This pre-order started the countdown on the arrival of iPhone 5 to Chinese shore. 


According to China Unicom vice president Fu Qiang, the arrival of iPhone 5 is imminent within this year. Before the announcement of iPhone 5 in the United States. Apple and China Unicom agreed that the iPhone 5 is coming to the Chinese shore. It already gets approval from the Chinese government. 

China Unicom vice president Fu Qiang stated that China Unicom to offer iPhone 5 in white and black colour while it has 16GB and 32GB versions. He added that the price of iPhone 5 will not be too high and it comes plans as well. The prices are different according to different plans and different versions.

Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100 and N7102 Officially Unveiled In China, Three More Variants Coming Soon

(GSM Insider) Today, Samsung China unveils the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in China. This is the second phablet from Samsung and has a very powerful performance. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is dominating the phablet market as there are less players.


At the event, Samsung unveils five different version of Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The first is the global version Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 and the second is the dual-SIM version Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7102. Another three version are tipped to be heading to China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom.

It has two SIM card slot as one for normal size SIM and another one for micro-SIM. It is a very special design. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 comes with single SIM supports. 

Samsung also reveals that three more Samsung Galaxy Note 2 variants that support WCDMA, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA networks are coming soon as well. Apple iPhone 5 Set To Arrive At China In Three Months via China Unicom and China Telecom

(GSM Insider) - The Apple iPhone 5 fever starts now. iPhone 5 on the lips of everyone. Many countries around the world interested to know when the iPhone 5 will arrive. And now, iPhone 5 set to arrive at China via China Unicom in three months.

According to China Unicom vice president Li Gang, China Unicom and Apple reached agreement on the iPhone 5. However, iPhone 5 needs to get approval from Chinese government before it can selling China. It should available at China Unicom in three months. 

Recently, Tim Cook stated that the Chinese market had replaced US market as the largest iPhone market. There are still improvement for iPhone in China. Therefore, the Chinese market is a must for Apple to enter soon. 

Seems like the iPhone 5 not only heading to China Unicom as China Telecom also showed interest in it recently. China Telecom CEO stated that the iPhone 5 set to arrive at China Telecom same time with it's arrival at China Unicom. 

Only one player left, that is the China Mobile. However, China Mobile not interested in release iPhone 5 yet as they have to deal wit TD-LTE issue. China Mobile controls around 70% of mobile subscribers in China with the rest of market share control by China Unicom and China Telecom.

Samsung Galax Note 2 For China Unicom Leaks, Comes With Dual-SIM Supports




(GSM Insider) - The relationships between Samsung Mobile and three of largest carriers in China are very close. All new flagship will have special version for that particular carrier in China. The same goes to Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (II) that arriving in China on October. Today, a series of images on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for China Unicom leaked at Weibo. The outlook might be the same with the global version, but the internal parts are definitely different. 

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for China Unicom has dual-SIM supports. It supports WCDMA and GSM dual-SIM standby mode. Here are the interesting part, the Galaxy Note 2 for China Unicom comes with dual-SIM slot with different. So surprise! There are two SIM card slots -- one is normal size, another is smaller size. Looks like it is the size of nano-SIM card. 

Besides dual-SIM feature, the design, specs and features are quite similar with the global version. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 tailored for China Unicom comes with 1.6GHz Exynos quad-core processor, 5.5 inch 720p HD Super AMOLED plus display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB and 32GB of ROM, runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Nature UI.
